Architect at Elkus Manfredi Architects | WELL AP™, Fitwel Ambassador
Throughout my life, I have always been passionate about
storytelling and design. Whether that be found within fashion, photography,
theatre, or architectural design, I believe that a unique story and captivating
experiences can lead to memorable design solutions for all to enjoy.
Translating my passion to a career in architecture, I have
had the blessing of working in world class architectural firms where these core
principles were valued within our projects. From retail development and lobby
renovations to historic cathedrals and master planning, my portfolio is now
filled with captivating projects at various scales where the fundamentals of
storytelling are always center stage.
The idea of scales is fascinating to me. Having the privilege
to work within the realm of interiors, architectural design, and master
planning, the change in scales have opened my eyes to a series of metrics that
are vital to thoughtful design. Within interior design, one must understand human interaction and how that can be translated into memorable experiences.
Space planning from interior design has become a useful tool in understanding
building design where critical dimensions for tenant use is important. And
building forms are translated into master planning where the movement of the
masses helps to shape the communities and public realm around us.
I am thankful to have created a career that has teetered the
line between creative and technical. From my educational background in architecture
and civil engineering to work experience spanning projects from conceptual to
completion, I believe the knowledge of design and construction is critical when
translating highly crafted stories into living spaces.
